Lenovo S5000 IdeaTab Teardown

Step 1

Using the key tool, open the SIM card tray and remove it.

Warning!

Do not push too hard this may cause damage.

Step 2

Open the back cover.

Step 3

Remove keys of the volume and power buttons.

Step 4

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew 2 bolts securing the battery connector.

Step 5

Disconnect connector on the PCB and remove the battery.

Step 6

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew the 2 bolts securing the board with SIM holder, disconnect the cable and remove it.

Step 7

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew 1 bolt and remove the buzzer (speaker) assembly.

Step 8

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew 9 bolts.

Step 9

Pry and remove the middle frame.

Step 10

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew 2 bolts securing the cover with antennas.

Step 11

Remove the cover with antennas.

Step 12

Disconnect connectors on the PCB and pry & remove coaxial cables.

Step 13

Disconnect connector on the lower PCB, pry up the vibration motor and remove the board.

Step 14

Disconnect connectors on the PCB and pry up the power & volume buttons flex cable.

Step 15

Disconnect connectors on the PCB and remove the main and front (selfie) cameras.

Step 16

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew 2 bolts in the PCB.

Step 17

Remove the PCB.

Step 18

Parts are in the frame of the display module.
