A Samsung A24 smartphone came in with a warning - high temperature when connected to a charger.
In addition to that, after powering on, the phone works for about 10–15 seconds after booting, then shows a temperature warning and shuts down.
So, we start disassembling the device, and the first thing we check is the flex cable connector on the motherboard - the weakest spot in Samsung smartphones in recent years.
It’s clear that the flex cable and connector look undamaged, so the cause must be somewhere else.
Therefore, we need to take a closer look at the bottom board with the system port.
Visually, everything looks fine there too; the connectors appear undamaged.
The only thing left is to check the thermistor, which could be the reason for this malfunction.
We find a non-working board that has the exact same thermistor - we located one on a Samsung A12 PCB.
Using a soldering iron, we replace the damaged component in just a couple of seconds.
We connect the charger and confirm that the charging indicator appears and the battery level is increasing.
No warnings - the phone powers on and works normally!
