A common issue with Samsung devices, especially the A51, besides all the usual problems, is the screen going black after the system boots.
Here’s what happens: after turning the phone on, it hangs on the splash screen for a long time, almost as if there’s RAM or CPU failure — but then the screen just goes completely black, even though the phone itself keeps running.
The most common cause of this? Moisture getting under the display.
So to confirm our case, we take the phone apart and carefully inspect the board.
At first glance, both the top and bottom sections show no visible signs of liquid damage.
Same with the display connector at the bottom — nothing visible.
But on the frame at the bottom, where the antennas are located, you can clearly see traces left by dried moisture 🫠
To test, we hook up a damaged test display module and confirm that the issue is indeed with the display.
The actual problem is that moisture corrodes the contact points where the flex cables are bonded.
In the past, the only option was to remove the display module and, under a microscope, spend a lot of time trying to restore the tracks — and even then, it didn’t always work 😅
Luckily, there’s a much simpler fix shared online:
All you need to do is bridge the 5th and 14th pins on the display connector.
Do it just like in the photo above, and everything works again in normal mode 👍
Turns out it’s that simple — no need to replace the expensive display module! 😂
