Step 2. Remove the tray
First of all, we need to remove the card tray. To do this, we use a special tool, insert it into the hole and carefully push out the card tray.
If the tray does not come out well, we can additionally use tweezers.
Step 3. Open the back cover
Then we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of about 70 degrees Celsius or 160 degrees Fahrenheit. For this we use a heating mat. You can use a hair dryer.
And after 5 to 7 minutes, we can move on to removing the back cover. To remove or detach the back cover, we use a thin plastic film, insert it into the gap between the back cover and the middle cover and gently run it along the edge cutting off the adhesive backing.
As always, we need to be careful in the area of the side buttons because in these places may be located cables.
And of course we need to be careful in the area of the cameras not to accidentally hit and do not damage the lenses.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
After that we move on to unscrewing the ten screws, for this we use a 1.5mm Phillips screwdriver or Philips #000.
It is better to place the screws on a special surface in an easy-to-remember order so that nothing gets mixed up during reassembly.
Step 5. Unscrew one screw
We use a 1.5mm Phillips screwdriver or Philips #000 to unscrew one small screw on the side.
Step 7. Open the middle cover
After that we move on to detaching the middle cover. To do this, we first use a thin plastic film.
We insert it into the gap between the middle cover and the display frame in the area of the card tray. Carefully disconnect a few clips and then we can use a thicker tool. And so we pass carefully along the edge with the tool unclipping the clips, thus detaching the middle cover.
We need to be really careful around the side buttons, and the fingerprint sensor, because they are physically located in these places.
We also need to be careful with the edge of the display.
Step 8. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as you can. Use a non-metallic or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The HONOR X7a Plus RKY-LX1 model has a battery HB5066A1EGW-A with a capacity of 5230 mAh (also known as a rechargeable battery).
Step 9. Remove the cameras
And after that we need to detach the three rear cameras. The cameras are fixed on a pad/or special bracket that hides the fingerprint sensor connector.
Step 10. Remove the bracket
We can remove the pad/or bracket that hides the fingerprint sensor connector.
Step 11. Disconnect the battery connector
We disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector and remove the middle cover with contact pads and antenna transmission lines.
Step 12. Remove the loudspeaker
We move on to detaching the loudspeaker at the bottom. Carefully hook the edge, lift and remove the loudspeaker.
Step 13. Unscrew one screw
We also need to unscrew one screw that fixes the sub-board.
If the screw doesn't come out well or gets stuck, we can use tweezers to gently remove it.
Step 14. Disconnect the connectors
We can disconnect the connector of the inter-board cable, disconnect the connector of the coaxial cable, disconnect the connector of the second coaxial cable.
Step 15. Remove the daughterboard
We can detach the sub-board. We find the right place where we gently pry, lift and remove the sub-board.
On the sub-board we have the charging port, headset port, microphone and other elements on the back side.
Also, try not to use a metal tool to disconnect the rechargeable battery connector or do it carefully.
Step 16. Remove the cameras
We can also detach the large rear camera and front camera.
Carefully pry up the edge, hold it slightly so that the cameras do not fly out and we damage camera lenses.
Step 17. Disconnect the connectors
We move on to disconnecting the connectors on the motherboard. We disconnect the two connectors of the two coaxial cables, disconnect the inter-board cable connector / the same cable for display.
Step 18. Unscrew one screw
We also need to unscrew one screw that fixes the motherboard. The screw is also badly magnetized, we can use additional tweezers to remove the stuck screw.
Step 19. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 20. Remove the battery
So, we have removed the motherboard and it remains to detach the battery. Traditionally for Honor we have three brown tabs with the numbers 1, 2 and 3, we need to unfold all the tabs, and the tab that is located in the middle carefully pull upwards.
If the battery is not in a hurry to come off because the adhesive around the edges is still holding the battery in place - we can gently pry up the battery in these spots.
No need to use force, no need to apply pressure in these areas with a tool so as not to accidentally damage the battery shell.
Under the battery we have an adhesive coating that protects the inter-board cables.
Step 21. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, vibration motor.
