Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM cards out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the cover
Before we open the back cover, I will tell you a little secret. The thing is that inside the black rim there is a cover that detaches separately and under it there is a screw that fixes the back cover. We need to use a special suction cup, which we attach to this cover and heat the cover slightly with a hair dryer, then pull the suction cup, push a thin plastic film into the gap, draw it in a circle separating the cover from the adhesive base and detach the cover.
Step 5. Open the back cover
We need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature about 65-70° C or 160° F, for this we use a heating mat you can use a hair dryer. And after 5-7 minutes we can move to detach the back cover.
And we take a thin plastic film and start opening the back cover. We insert it into the gap between the middle cover and the back cover and run it lengthwise. We can use a little isopropyl alcohol to dry the adhesive base.
We always need to be careful around the side buttons and the fingerprint sensor, because this area may have cables that can be damaged. We should also be careful in the area of the cameras, so as not to damage the lenses.
Step 7. Open the cover
Pry over the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detach the clips and remove the cover hiding the motherboard.
Step 8. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Honor X9a RMO-NX1 model has a battery HB506492EFW with 5000 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
Step 11. Remove the bracket
We disconnect the plastic coaxial cable connector bracket and the metal inter-board cable connector bracket.
Step 12. Disconnect the connectors
We disconnect the coaxial cable connector and the inter-board cable connector.
Step 13. Remove the loudspeaker
And we can detach the speaker assembly by hooking the edge and lifting it off. There is also a small board associated with the 5G antenna, my guess.
Step 14. Unscrew one screw
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew one screw securing the sub-board.
Step 15. Disconnect the connectors
Disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector and the connector of the other coaxial cable.
Step 16. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, SIM cards holder (connector) spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 17. Remove the cameras
And we move on to detaching the rear cameras. Gently hook the connectors and pull them out. It is better to hold the cameras by the body so that they do not fly out and we do not damage their lenses.
Step 18. Disconnect the connectors
We can disconnect the connector of the inter-board cable and the connector of the display and two connectors of two coaxial cables.
Step 19. Unscrew one screw
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the one screw one that secures the front camera cover and the motherboard.
Step 20. Remove the bracket
Pry over the edge and remove the cover/bracket that holds the front camera in place.
Step 22. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 23. Remove the battery
And now we have to remove the battery. Traditionally for Honor, we have the three tabs. We need to read the brown tabs on which one we need to pull, and we need to unwrap all of them so that they do not prevent us from detaching the battery and do not hold it.
And as it became clear to us from the description, we have to pull the tab with number 3. Gently pull it upwards, detaching the battery. And with the other hand we hold the display frame on the edges.
As we can see, the battery is also held on the transparent protective coating, which protects the inter-board cable and the display cable.
Step 24. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, fingerprint sensor, vibration motor, inter-board cable, side buttons, and two coaxial cables.
