Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
We recommend using a special heating device such as a separator machine, heat gun, or heating mat. It will simplify the process. You can use a home hairdryer, but you will have to make a nozzle by hand or have a suitable one in the kit to gently heat and concentrate the heat flow in the right place.
âšī¸ī¸ The surface of the back cover must be heated to soften the adhesive underneath. The approximate heating temperature is 50° C / 125° F.
Use a thin plastic film or pick for separation. To facilitate the process, you can use isopropyl alcohol. It is often the most difficult to pass the tool between the parts to be divided. Choose the far edge from the FFC cables or buttons.
Do not use a lever or any force for separation that could damage the elements inside.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the three silver screws.
Step 5. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the five long black screws.
If the screws are different: âšī¸ī¸ Be sure to note the location of the screws before disassembling. When assembling the device, screwing the screw in the wrong place may damage the device or its parts. To avoid damage, the removed screws and individual pieces (as gaskets or brackets) must be laid out in the appropriate order, or the screws and their holes in the phone must be marked with colored markers.
Step 6. Remove the frame of cameras
Pry over the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detach the clips and remove the cover that protects cameras with a flashlight.
Step 7. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the two small silver screws.
Step 8. Disconnect the connector
Disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector. Technically, we can disconnect this connector after we detach the middle cover but there is a risk to damage the fingerprint sensor cable.
Step 9. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the two silver screws.
Step 10. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the four large black screws.
Step 11. Open the middle cover
Pry over the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detaching the clips and remove the middle cover with transmission lines and pads for antenna. The middle cover protects the printed circuit board (PCB).
Try to lift the cover by the edges and don't push anything too far inside, so as not to accidentally break or short-circuit anything on the circuit board.
â ī¸ī¸ If we did not disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable connector earlier we have to do this in the first order to avoid damaging its cable.
Step 12. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Huawei Nova Y70 model has a battery HB536896EFW with 6000 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
Step 13. Remove the loudspeaker
Pry over the edge and remove the loudspeaker assembly with antenna elements.
Step 14. Disconnect the connectors
Disconnect the coaxial cable connector, inter-board cable connector.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not pull on the cable or pry it with a sharp tool, the connectors are pretty weak and break easily, or the cable falls out of the end (lug).
Step 15. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, headphone jack port, spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 16. Disconnect the connectors
Pry up the connectors of the display module cable, inter-board cable, and coaxial cable.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
Step 17. Remove the cameras
We can disconnect the connectors and take out the rear cameras. The large camera first. The two small cameras have holders that hold them in place.
And we can also remove the front (selfie) camera.
Step 18. Remove the motherboard
We can detach the motherboard. It is really important to find the right edge, where we can hook it so that the motherboard comes off quickly.
There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 19. Remove the battery
And we move on to detaching the battery. We need to unwrap the brown tabs with numbers 1, 2 and 3 and read which one we need to pull, but we need to unwrap all of them so that they do not interfere with the battery and do not hold it.
As it became clear to us from the description, we must pull the label number 3. Gently pull upwards, detaching the battery. The side tabs should be unwrapped as far as possible, so that they do not interfere with this process. The tabs may become deformed during the detaching process too.
The battery is also held, on one side, by a transparent protective coating that protects the inter-board cable and display cable.
Step 20. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, cables, and vibration motor.
