Disassembly/Repair of the mobile device Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3 Pro (Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3 Pro YT3-X90L) with each step description and the required set of tools.

⚠️ Before disassembling, do not forget to turn your phone off.

Carefully turn up the cover. This cover is also used as a stand.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew three screws.

Using a spudger or a plastic pick, carefully, around the edge, detach the back cover clips, and remove it.

Do not insert the tool deeply or bend it. Otherwise, the housing may be tampered with or damaged.

⚠️ Be careful when opening the cover from the volume and power buttons side. Thin cable and fragile buttons are straightforward to damage.

⚠️ Look in advance in the picture for the cables’ location for inter-board, touchscreen, display, buttons (if any) under the cover to not damage them accidentally.

⚠️ Also, the cover has a few clips in the middle, so be careful. It is a bit challenging to get to them, do not use metal tools!

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew three screws and remove the bracket securing the connectors.

Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible.

ℹ️️ The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3 Pro YT3-X90L model has a battery L15D1P31 with 4000 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).

⚠️ It is highly recommended to disconnect the connector to avoid possible short circuits during disassembly.

Also, try not to use a metal tool to disconnect the rechargeable battery connector or do it carefully.

Pry up the connector and unstick the rear camera. There is two connection from the camera to the motherboard. It is better to remove the camera and flat cable.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew three screws. Moreover, we disconnect the battery connector of the battery - that locates inside the tube.

The second Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3 Pro battery is L14C3K31 with a 9600 mAh capacity.

Remove the cover that is also using as a rear camera housing.

Carefully remove the cable with a charging port.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew four screws.

Pry up the connector and remove the cable with a headphone jack socket.

Carefully remove the tube with the battery. There is a trick, we need to remove the cylinder and thread out the cables from the fixing holes.

Pry up the connectors for loudspeakers, coaxial cables, inter-board cable, touchscreen cable.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew two screws securing a small board.

Pry up the connector and remove the small board.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew two screws securing the sub-board.

Pry up the connector and remove the daughterboard (aka sub-board) with cards holders.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew five screws securing the motherboard.

ℹ️️ Be sure to note the location of the screws before disassembling. When assembling the device, screwing the screw in the wrong place may damage the device or its part. To avoid damage, the removed screws and individual pieces (as gaskets or brackets) must be laid out in the appropriate order, or the screws and their holes in the phone must be marked with colored markers.

Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the board.

⚠️ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.

Pry up the connector and remove the front (selfie) camera.
