Step 2. Remove the tray
At the very beginning we need to remove the card tray for this we take a special tool, insert it into the hole and push out the combined tray for sim cards and memory cards.
Step 3. Open the back cover
We need to heat the surface of the back cover to approximately 70° C or 160° F. For this we use a heating mat you can use a hair dryer.
And after 10 minutes we can proceed to detach the back cover.
To detach the back cover, we will use a plastic film, whether it is a protective film from a new display or a film from the stationery store.
We insert it into the gap between the middle cover and the back cover and run it along the edge cutting off the adhesive base.
Usually, the back cover is really tightly glued - you need to be really careful.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
We need to remove the seven screws, we use a 1.5mm Phillips screwdriver or #000.
The screws look like they are all the same, but we still recommend placing them on a special surface in an easy-to-remember order, just in case.
Step 5. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH #000), unscrew the seven screws at the bottom.
Step 6. Remove the loudspeaker
And with a non-metal tool we need to detach the cover with the loudspeaker and antenna transmission lines. We find the right place where we can pry and lift the cover.
Step 7. Open the cover
And we move on to detaching the cover that hides the motherboard. We also find the right place where we can hook and lift the cover. We also use a non-metal tool.
On the cover there are many antenna transmission lines and of course the NFC and wireless charging tab.
Step 8. Disconnect the battery connector
And with the non-metal tool we disconnect the battery connector and bend the cable so that it doesn't interfere with us.
âšī¸ī¸ The LG G7 ThinQ G710 model has a battery BL-T39 with a capacity of 3000 mAh (also known as a rechargeable battery).
Step 9. Disconnect the connectors
And we disconnect the connectors. Disconnect the connector for the display, the connector for the front camera and disconnect the connector that connects the sub-board to the motherboard on the inside.
Step 10. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 11. Remove the front camera
After that we can detach the front camera. As we can see the camera is recessed into the display frame. We carefully hook it by the base and pull the camera off.
Step 12. Remove the rear camera
And we can flip the motherboard over and detach the rear cameras. Hook the connector, lift and remove the assembly of the two rear cameras.
Step 14. Remove the daughterboard
Before we remove the sub-board, we need to detach the cable that connects the sub-board to the motherboard.
We use a flat tool, run it under the cable and try to lift it up. The cable is glued to the heat sink foil on the inside so we need to carefully peel it off.
When we finished detaching the cable we move on to removing the sub-board.
It is important to note that from the sub-board there is a small cable that carries the microphone and it is also glued. So we have to be careful when we detach the sub-board - we have to peel off the microphone from the display frame so that we don't tear off the cable.
On the sub-board we have the charging port, microphone and other elements on the back side.
Step 16. Remove the battery
The battery is firmly glued, there are several cables, we need to be careful not to damage any of them. And of course it is important not to damage the battery shell.
We use plastic film to cut off the adhesive base and a tool to lift the battery. It is not necessary to forcefully lift the battery to avoid damaging the battery shell or display frame.
At some point we can use a plastic card, it is very convenient to cut the glue in the depth of the battery, but the film simply begins to roll up there.
Step 17. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, vibration motor.
