Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
We recommend using a special heating device such as a separator machine, heat gun, or heating mat. It will simplify the process. You can use a home hairdryer, but you will have to make a nozzle by hand or have a suitable one in the kit to gently heat and concentrate the heat flow in the right place.
âšī¸ī¸ The surface of the back cover must be heated to soften the adhesive underneath. The approximate heating temperature is 50° C / 125° F.
Use a thin plastic film or pick for separation. To facilitate the process, you can use isopropyl alcohol. It is often the most difficult to pass the tool between the parts to be divided. Choose the far edge from the FFC cables or buttons.
We insert it into the gap between the middle cover and the back cover and run it along. As the back cover is detached separately from the cameras cover, the back cover will be glued around the cameras cover.
Step 6. Unscrew one screw
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew one screw.
If the screws are different: âšī¸ī¸ Be sure to note the location of the screws before disassembling. When assembling the device, screwing the screw in the wrong place may damage the device or its parts. To avoid damage, the removed screws and individual pieces (as gaskets or brackets) must be laid out in the appropriate order, or the screws and their holes in the phone must be marked with colored markers.
Step 7. Open the middle cover
And we move on to detach the middle cover, we use a plastic film or plastic tool like spudger.
We run the tool into the gap near the hole for the cards tray and gently run along the detaching clips.
As always, we need to be careful in the area of the side buttons, so as not to damage them and in the area of the cameras.
Step 8. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Oppo Reno4 Lite model has a battery BLP779 with 4000 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
Step 9. Remove the loudspeaker
We can remove the cover with the speaker. Carefully hook over the edge and take it out. As we see in the cover besides the loudspeaker there is a vibration motor.
Step 10. Remove the inter-board cable
Carefully, preferably from the edge, disconnect the connectors and remove the inter-board cable connecting the mainboard to the daughterboard (also known as the sub-board).
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
âšī¸ī¸ An arrow on the FFC cable (flexible flat cable) indicates its correct position.
Step 11. Remove the front camera
Let's move on to detach the two front-facing cameras. The cameras are connected by a heat sink film so we have to be careful.
Step 12. Disconnect the connectors
Now we can disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable connector, the coaxial cable connector, the inter-board cable connector, and the display connector.
Step 13. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, headphone jack socket, spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 14. Disconnect the connectors
Let's move on to disconnecting the inter-board cable connector on the motherboard. Then we can disconnect the coaxial cable connector and release the cable from the fixations on the motherboard.
Step 15. Unscrew one screw
Using a Philips 1.5 mm screwdriver (PH#000), unscrew one screw securing the motherboard.
Step 16. Unscrew the screws
Using a Philips 1.5 mm screwdriver (PH#000), unscrew the two screws holding the cameras.
Step 17. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 18. Remove the cameras
Then we remove the bracket with one rear camera. After that, we detach the larger rear camera. And we can remove the remaining two cameras.
Step 19. Remove the battery
And we move on to detaching the battery. We only have one green tab. We need to unwrap it and pull it upwards.
Under the battery we have a transparent coating that protects the inter-board cable and holds the battery by one edge.
Step 20. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, fingerprint sensor, and cables.
