Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
To remove the back cover we will use a thin metal tool to pry up and lift the edge of the back cover because the cover is slightly recessed. And then insert the plastic film into the resulting hole.
We run the film lengthwise. We also need to be careful around the cover of the cameras. Since the cover comes separately from the back cover, the back cover is glued around the cover of the cameras.
Step 4. Remove the frame of cameras
We hook the cover by the edge, pry it off and unstick the cover of the cameras.
Step 5. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the seventeen screws.
Step 6. Open the middle cover
Pry over the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detach the clips and remove the middle cover with transmission lines and pads for antenna. The middle cover protects the printed circuit board (PCB).
Try to lift the cover by the edges and don't push anything too far inside, so as not to accidentally break or short-circuit anything on the circuit board.
Step 7. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as you can. Use a non-metallic or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Realme 8 Pro RMX3081 model has a battery BLP837 with a capacity of 4400 mAh (also known as a rechargeable battery).
Step 8. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the two screws securing the cover with a loudspeaker and vibration motor.
Step 9. Remove the loudspeaker
Pry over the edge and remove the cover with a loudspeaker and vibration motor.
Step 10. Disconnect the connectors
And we disconnect the connector of the fingerprint sensor and two connectors of the inter-board cables, the connector of the display and we must not forget about the connector of the coaxial cable.
Step 11. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, headphone jack port, spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 12. Disconnect the connectors
We disconnect the two connectors of the two inter-board cables and disconnect the connector of the coaxial cable and remove the cable itself from its fixing clips on the motherboard.
Step 13. Remove the cameras
We can detach the front camera. Traditionally, the front camera is glued to the motherboard shield with a copper foil for heat dissipation. And we can also detach the rear cameras. The cameras are taped to the base of the display frame and to the motherboard. It is necessary to be careful not to damage the lenses.
Step 14. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 15. Remove the battery
At last, but not list we move on to detaching the battery. We unwrap the transparent coating and the green tab. As usual, we hold the display frame with one hand and pull the green tab up with the other.
As we can see, the battery is also held on the protective coating, which protects the inter-board cables.
Step 16. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, coaxial cable, fingerprint sensor, and two inter-board cables.
