Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
To open the back cover we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of approximately 65-70 ° C or 160° F. For this we use a heating mat you can use a hair dryer. We put the phone on the mat surface and after 5-7 minutes we can proceed to disassembly.
To remove the back cover, we will use a plastic film, it is a protective film from the new display. We insert it into the gap between the middle cover and the back cover and run it lengthwise separating the covers.
Always be careful around the side buttons, because in this area there may be a cable and it can be damaged.
Also, we need to be careful in the area of the cameras.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the seventeen screws.
Step 5. Open the middle cover
And we can detach the middle cover, we use plastic film. We run the film into the gap near the hole of the tray of sim cards and gently run it along to detach the clips.
We need, as always, be careful in the area of the side buttons, on the corners and in the area of the cameras.
Step 6. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as you can. Use a non-metallic or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Realme 9 RMX3521 model has a battery BLP883 with a capacity of 5000 mAh (also known as a rechargeable battery).
Step 8. Disconnect the connector
Disconnect the coaxial cable connector, two connectors of two inter-board cables, fingerprint sensor cable connector, connector to the display.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not pull on the cable or pry it with a sharp tool, the connectors are pretty weak and break easily, or the cable falls out of the end (lug).
Step 9. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, headphone jack port, spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 10. Remove the front camera
Disconnect the connector and detach the front camera. In our case the front camera is held to the motherboard shield using copper heat dissipating foil, for now.
Step 11. Disconnect the connectors
After that, we disconnect the connectors of the two inter-board cables on the motherboard.
Then we disconnect the connector of the coaxial cable and release the cable itself from the clips fixing it on the motherboard.
Step 12. Remove the cameras
We can remove the front camera, which is traditionally glued on a copper heat dissipating foil, it is important not to damage it but save for re-assembly. After that we detach the three rear cameras.
The cameras are glued to the bottom and it is better to hold them by the body so as not to damage the lenses.
Step 13. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 14. Remove the battery
Finally, we move on to detach the battery. We unwrap the transparent coating and the green tab which we need to pull on. With one hand we hold the display frame and with the other hand we pull the green tab upwards to remove the battery. As we can see, the battery is also held on the transparent protective coating, which protects the inter-board cables.
Step 15. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, coaxial cable, and vibration motor.
