Step 2. Remove the tray

First of all, we need to remove the card tray.

To do this, we use a special tool, insert it into the hole, and carefully push the card tray out.

Step 3. Open the back cover

After that, we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of approximately 70 degrees Celsius or 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

For this, we use a heating pad, but you can also use a hair dryer.

After about 10 minutes, we can move on to separating the back cover.

To detach the back cover, we use a thin plastic film. This can be a protective film from a new display or a film from a stationery store.

Carefully insert the film into the gap between the back cover and the midframe, and gently run it along the edge, cutting through the adhesive layer.

Please note that the back cover is slightly recessed, so you need to carefully try to lift it with a thin tool. In general, after that we can already use a thicker tool.

Step 4. Unscrew the screws

After that, it’s better to cover the camera lenses. For this, we use a special film.

Please note that we apply the film not to the lenses themselves, but to the rim around them.

Next, we need to unscrew the screws. For this, we use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or a Phillips #000.

It’s better to place the screws in a specific order on a dedicated surface, because screws may not thread properly if installed in the wrong holes.

Step 5. Open the cover

So, after that, we need to detach the cover in the upper part.

It’s better to use a non-metal tool so as not to short anything on the printed circuit board.

The cover has antenna traces on it.

Step 6. Disconnect the battery connector

After that, using a non-metal tool, we disconnect the battery connector.

Step 7. Unscrew the screws

Then we move on to unscrewing the screws in the lower part.

For unscrewing, we also use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver.

Step 8. Open the cover

After that, we detach the cover in the lower part.

For this, we use tweezers.

Carefully pry it up in the correct place, lift it, and remove the cover.

Step 9. Remove the inter-board cable

Next, we need to disconnect the interconnect flex cable.

To do this, we disconnect the connectors on the sub-board, then disconnect the connector on the motherboard, and move the interconnect flex cable aside.

Step 10. Unscrew one screw

Then we need to unscrew one screw that secures the sub-board.

For this, we use a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

Please note that this screw is different from the previous ones.

Step 11. Disconnect the connectors

Now we need to disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector, disconnect or peel off the display connector, and we also need to disconnect two connectors of the two coaxial cables.

Step 12. Remove the sub-board

And now we can remove the sub-board.

Carefully pry it up in the correct place, lift it, and take it out.

On the sub-board, there are: the charging port, the microphone, and other components on the reverse side.

Step 13. Remove the cameras

We can disconnect the cameras.

Carefully pry at the edge and remove the rear cameras.

At this stage, we can disconnect only two rear cameras.

Then we can disconnect the front camera.

It’s also better to cover the front camera lens with film so that debris or dust does not get on it.

Step 14. Disconnect the connectors

Disconnect the two connectors of the two coaxial cables.

Step 15. Unscrew one screw

After that, we need to unscrew one screw that secures the motherboard.

This screw is different from the previous ones, and it’s also better to keep it separately.

Step 16. Remove the motherboard

And we can remove the motherboard. Carefully pry it up, lift it, and remove the motherboard.

Step 17. Remove the cameras

We turn the motherboard over and disconnect the two rear cameras.

Carefully move the cameras aside.

Step 18. In the display frame remained
