Disassembly/Repair of the mobile device Samsung Galaxy A71 5G SM-A7160 (Samsung Galaxy A71 SM-A716B/DS, SM-A716U, SM-A7156/DSN) with each step description and the required set of tools.

⚠️️ Before disassembling, do not forget to turn your phone off.

Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.

⚠️️ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.

To open we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of about 65-70 ° C or 160° F. For this we use a heating mat you can use a hair dryer. And after 5-7 minutes we can move on to detach the back cover.

To detach the back cover, we use a plastic film, this is the protective film from the new display. We insert it into the gap between the middle cover and the back cover and run it lengthwise. We always need to be careful around the side buttons, because in this area there may be a cable and it can be damaged.

We also have to be careful in the camera area so that we don't damage the lenses.

Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the eight screws.

The screws are not really magnetic, so we will need tweezers to remove the stuck screws.

Pry open the edges. Use an opening tool to slide along the edge and release the clips. Lift the cover that has transmission lines and pads for the antenna and flip it over.

ℹ️️ Be careful not to insert anything between the edges of the cover, as you might touch or short-circuit something on the circuit board. Try to lift the cover by the edges only.

Disconnect the battery connector as soon as you can. Use a non-metallic or plastic tool to avoid any damage.

ℹ️️ The Samsung Galaxy A71 5G model has a battery EB-BA907ABYL with a capacity of 4500 mAh (also known as a rechargeable battery).

Using a Philips 1.5 mm screwdriver (PH#000), unscrew seven screws at the lower part of the phone.

Once we've removed the screws, we need to detach the loudspeaker cover. We gently hook around the edge and detach the cover and remove the whole assembly.

Disconnect the connectors and remove the inter-board cable.

ℹ️️ An arrow on the FFC cable (flexible flat cable) indicates its correct position.

Disconnect the display cable connector and the fingerprint sensor cable connector.

Unscrew one screw holding the sub-board in place. The screwdriver is the same Philips 1.5 mm (PH#000), but the screw may be different.

Then we hook the sub-board from the edge and detach it. The sub-board is slightly recessed. It is not glued, because it was screwed on with a screw.

The inter-board cable is soldered to the sub-board so we need to remove them together. So we disconnect the inter-board cable connector on the motherboard first.

Unscrew one screw securing the motherboard. The screwdriver is the same Phillips 1.5 mm screwdriver.

We can detach the front (selfie) camera and one of the rear cameras. The body of the rear camera is slightly glued, so we need to be careful.

Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.

The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.

⚠️️ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.

We can turn the motherboard over, disconnect the connectors and remove the assembly with three rear cameras. Carefully push out the assembly. It is slightly glued around the edge.
