Disassembly/Repair of the mobile device Samsung Galaxy J2 Core SM-J260 (Samsung SM-J260F/DS (Global); SM-J260M/DS (LATAM); SM-J260Y/DS (Philippines); SM-J260G/DS (India)) with each step description and the required set of tools.

Using a spudger or a plastic pick, carefully, around the edge, detach the back cover clips, and remove it.

Do not insert the tool deeply or bend it. Otherwise, the housing may be tampered with or damaged.

⚠️️ Be careful when opening the cover from the volume and power buttons side. Thin cable and fragile buttons are straightforward to damage.

Pry over the edge, lift and remove the battery. On the middle cover is a small indentation to facilitate the process of removing the battery.

ℹ️️ The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core SM-J260 model has a battery EB-BG360BBE / CBE / CB with 2600 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).

Pry over the edge, detach and remove the small hatch hiding the display module connector.

⚠️️ Pay attention! Disassembly has a maximum 3rd difficulty because the process begins with the disassembly of the display module. If you have no experience or are not sure of your skills, we strongly recommend that you contact a specialized service center.

It will simplify the process. You can use a home hairdryer, but you will have to make a nozzle by hand or have a suitable one in the kit to gently heat and concentrate the heat flow in the right place.

ℹ️️ The surface of the display module must be heated to soften the adhesive underneath. The approximate heating temperature is 50° C / 125° F.

Use a thin plastic film or pick for separation. To facilitate the process, you can use isopropyl alcohol. It is often most difficult to pass the tool between the parts to be divided. Choose the far edge from the FFC cables or buttons.

Do not use a lever or any force for separation that could damage the elements inside.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew 10 screws.

Pry around the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detaching the clips and removing the middle cover with a loudspeaker. The middle cover protects the printed circuit board (PCB).

Try to lift the cover by the edges and don't push anything too far inside, so as not to accidentally break or short-circuit anything on the circuit board.

Pry over the edge, disconnect the connector and detach the headphone jack socket.

Disconnect the connector and remove the front (selfie) camera.

Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.

⚠️️ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.

Disconnect the connector and remove the main (rear) camera.
