Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
We recommend using a special heating device such as a separator machine, heat gun, or heating mat. It will simplify the process. You can use a home hairdryer, but you will have to make a nozzle by hand or have a suitable one in the kit to gently heat and concentrate the heat flow in the right place.
âšī¸ī¸ The surface of the back cover must be heated to soften the adhesive underneath. The approximate heating temperature is 50° C / 125° F.
Use a thin plastic film or pick for separation. To facilitate the process, you can use isopropyl alcohol. It is often the most difficult to pass the tool between the parts to be divided. Choose the far edge from the FFC cables or buttons.
Do not use a lever or any force for separation that could damage the elements inside.
Step 5. Remove the wireless charging
Disconnect the two connectors and carefully remove the cover. The black one part is glued a bit at the end so be careful. BTW on the metal part is located the NFC, but the black one is the wireless charging.
Step 6. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus model has a battery EB-BG996ABY with 4800 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
â ī¸ī¸ It is highly recommended to disconnect the connector to avoid possible short circuits during disassembly.
Step 7. Remove the earpiece speaker
Disconnect the connector. Pry over the edges and remove the cover with an earpiece speaker.
Step 10. Remove the inter-board cables
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful! The display does not have any protection in the connector place, so do not press the connector by force.
Carefully, preferably from the edge, disconnect the connectors and remove the inter-board cables connecting the mainboard to the sub-board, display.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
âšī¸ī¸ An arrow on the FFC cable (flexible flat cable) indicates its correct position.
Step 11. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver (Philips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew three screws securing the sub-board.
Step 12. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame with metalized tape, so to facilitate the process, the sub-board can be heated a bit.
The sub-board, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, spring contacts for the speaker, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 13. Remove the battery
Before the battery separation we heated the display surface with a heating mat, for three minutes. The temperature was 60° C or 140° F.
Push the plastic film under the battery. Make kind of a gutter out of this film to help sprayed isopropyl alcohol get under the battery. It helps us to dry adhesive base. Please find the fingerprint sensor on pictures. It is under the battery in the middle, so be careful at this place and do not spray alcohol there.
After, move plastic film along to open the battery.
Step 15. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 17. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the front camera, vibration motor.
Step 18. Remove the vibration motor
Push a tool under the vibration motor contacts pad. Carefully move the tool up and down to unstick the vibration motor and remove it.
Step 19. Remove the front camera
Push the tool under the front camera. Carefully move the tool up and down to remove the camera. There are two things you should know. The first, the camera is glued just at the bottom under its cable. The second, under the camera some space is unprotected inner display side. So do not touch it or lever at this place by force.
