Step 2. Open the back cover
We recommend using a special heating device such as a separator machine, heat gun, or heating mat. It will simplify the process. You can use a home hairdryer, but you will have to make a nozzle by hand or have a suitable one in the kit to gently heat and concentrate the heat flow in the right place.
âšī¸ī¸ The surface of the back cover must be heated to soften the adhesive underneath. The approximate heating temperature is 50° C / 125° F.
Use a thin plastic film or pick for separation. To facilitate the process, you can use isopropyl alcohol. It is often the most difficult to pass the tool between the parts to be divided. Choose the far edge from the FFC cables or buttons.
Do not use a lever or any force for separation that could damage the elements inside.
Step 3. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Sony Xperia XA Ultra model has a battery LIS1594ERPC with 2700 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
Using a hex T5 screwdriver, unscrew the six black screws and a hex T3 screwdriver, unscrew the eight small silver screws.
The screws are different: âšī¸ī¸ Be sure to note the location of the screws before disassembling. When assembling the device, screwing the screw in the wrong place may damage the device or its parts. To avoid damage, the removed screws and individual pieces (as gaskets or brackets) must be laid out in the appropriate order, or the screws and their holes in the phone must be marked with colored markers.
Step 5. Open the middle cover
Pry over the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detach the clips and remove the middle cover with transmission lines and pads for antenna. The middle cover protects the printed circuit board (PCB).
Try to lift the cover by the edges and don't push anything too far inside, so as not to accidentally break or short-circuit anything on the circuit board.
Step 6. Unscrew the screws
Using a hex T5 screwdriver, unscrew the three screws holding the loudspeaker.
Step 7. Remove the loudspeaker
Pry over the edge and remove the loudspeaker assembly with antenna tracks (transmission lines).
Step 9. Disconnect the connectors
Pry up the connectors of the display module cable, vibration motor.
Step 10. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 11. Remove the rear camera
Pry at the bottom and remove the main camera.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful! The camera is glued a bit with adhesive.
â ī¸ī¸ If we pry the main camera in the middle we may break the camera in half.
Step 12. Remove the vibration motor
Pry at the bottom and remove the vibration motor.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful! The vibration motor is glued a bit with adhesive.
Step 13. Remove the earpiece speaker
Pry at the bottom and detach the earpiece speaker and small board with a proximity sensor.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful! The earpiece speaker is glued a bit with adhesive.
â ī¸ī¸ If we pry the speaker in the middle we may break the earpiece speaker in half.
