Step 2. Remove the tray
First of all, as usual, we need to remove the SIM card tray.
To do this, we use a SIM eject tool, insert it into the hole, push the tray out, and set it aside.
Step 3. Open the back cover
After that, we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of about 70°C or 160 degrees Fahrenheit. We’re using a heating mat for this, but you can also use a hair dryer.
After approximately 10 minutes, we can move on to removing or separating the back cover. For this, we use a thin but strong plastic film. We insert it into the gap between the back cover and the midframe, and carefully slide it along the edge, cutting through the adhesive layer.
Please note that the back cover is additionally glued around the camera area.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
After that, we move on to removing the screws. To remove the screws, we use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or a Phillips #000 screwdriver. We unscrew the screws.
If the screws are difficult to remove, we can additionally use tweezers.
Step 5. Open the cover
So, after removing the screws, we need to detach the cover in the upper section.
First, it’s better to partially peel back the wireless charging coil from one side and check what’s underneath this insert - the location of the flex cables and possibly the connectors.
We look underneath the insert to identify the approximate locations of the connectors.
Now we can carefully use a non-metal tool to pry up and disconnect the cover assembly with the wireless charging coil, NFC module, flash, and antenna traces.
Carefully remove it and set it aside.
Step 6. Disconnect the battery connector
After that, use a non-metal tool to disconnect the battery connectors.
ℹ️️ The Vivo X200 Pro uses a BA72 rechargeable battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh.
Step 7. Unscrew the screws
In the lower section, we also need to remove the screws.
It looks like all the screws are the same, but it’s still better to keep them separate from the previous ones, since screws do not always fit properly into the wrong holes.
Step 8. Remove the loudspeaker
And now we can disconnect the cover with the loudspeaker and vibration motor.
Step 9. Disconnect the connectors
After that, we disconnect the interconnect flex cable connectors and the display flex cable connector.
Peel up the interconnect flex cable connector that is glued to the sub-board.
Disconnect the other interconnect flex cable connector.
And we can carefully disconnect the coaxial cable connector and bend the cable aside so it doesn’t get in the way.
Step 10. Remove the sub-board
And now we can finally disconnect the sub-board. Carefully remove it.
We can see the microphone hole on one side.
Most likely, the microphone itself is located under the shield, along with the charging port, while the SIM card connector is on the opposite side.
Step 11. Unscrew one screw
And now we need to remove one screw that secures the motherboard.
The same 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver is used here, and the screw itself is gold-colored.
Step 12. Remove the cameras
We can disconnect the cameras.
First, we disconnect the large rear camera, then disconnect the other two cameras.
Disconnect the final rear camera and peel off the heat-dissipating layer. We’ll still need it during reassembly.
We also need to peel back the copper heat-dissipating layer from the front camera and remove the camera itself.
It’s also better to cover the camera lens with protective film so that dust or debris doesn’t get on it.
Set the front camera aside.
Step 13. Disconnect the connectors
We also need to check the interconnect flex cable connector. Disconnect all the connectors so they don’t get in the way.
Disconnect the coaxial cable connector and release the cable itself from the retaining clips or brackets on the motherboard.
Step 14. Remove the motherboard
And now nothing is stopping us from disconnecting the motherboard.
Carefully pry it up by the edge in the correct place and lift it. Move all the flex cables out of the way so they don’t interfere.
By the way, on the reverse side, the motherboard may also be held in place by thermal paste.
Set it aside.
Step 15. Remove the battery
And finally, we move on to removing the battery.
We have a transparent protective layer that needs to be folded back, and a black pull tab that needs to be pulled upward in order to remove the battery.
And we pull the tab upward, thereby disconnecting the battery.
Under the battery there is a transparent adhesive protective layer that protects the interconnect flex cables.
