Disassembly/Repair of the mobile device Xiaomi 14T (Xiaomi 14T 2406APNFAG) with each step description and the required set of tools.

⚠️️ Before disassembling, do not forget to turn your phone off.

First of all, as usual, we need to remove the SIM card tray.

It’s located at the bottom of the phone.

Carefully push the tray out using a SIM eject tool and set it aside.

Next, we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of approximately 70°C (160°F).

For this, we’re using a heating mat, but you can also use a hair dryer.

So, after about 10 minutes, we move on to removing the back cover.

To detach the back cover, we use a thin plastic film. Insert it into the gap between the back cover and the mid-frame, and carefully slide it along the edge, cutting through the adhesive layer.

As always, be careful around the camera area so you don’t accidentally touch or damage the lenses.

Don’t push the film too deep under the back cover so you don’t damage anything, since we don’t know exactly what components are located underneath.

After that, we move on to removing the screws in the upper part.

For this, we use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or a Phillips #000.

It’s best to place the screws on a special surface in a specific order, since sometimes screws don’t fit properly if they’re returned to the wrong holes.

After that, we need to remove the cover.

It’s better to avoid using a metal tool here to prevent accidentally shorting anything on the motherboard.

Carefully pry it up in the correct spot and lift the cover with the contact pads and antenna traces. Set it aside.

Next, using a non-metal tool, disconnect the two battery connectors.

ℹ️️ The Xiaomi 14T model 2406APNFAG uses a BMT5 rechargeable battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh.

Then we move to the lower part.

In the lower section, we also need to remove the screws.

For this, we again use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or Phillips #000.

It’s best to keep these screws separate from the previous ones. They are most likely identical, but we do this just in case.

After that, we need to detach the lower cover with a loudspeaker.

Carefully pry it up and remove it.

Next, we disconnect the connectors.

We disconnect the coaxial cable connector and free the cable so it doesn’t get in our way.

Then we disconnect the connector of the second coaxial cable and also release that cable from the clips that secure it to the sub-board.

We disconnect the inter-board flex cable connector and the fingerprint sensor connector.

Now we can carefully try to remove the sub-board.

Pry it up from the edge, lift it slightly, and take out the sub-board, which sits slightly recessed.

Located on the sub-board are the charging port and the microphone.

On the reverse side, there is the SIM card connector.

Inside the display frame, the fingerprint sensor and the vibration motor remain.

Now we can disconnect the remaining connectors: disconnect the inter-board flex cable connector and the display flex cable connector.

We also need to disconnect the connectors of the two coaxial cables and release the black coaxial cable from the clips that secure it to the motherboard.

We move on to disconnect the cameras.

The cameras are glued by their base either to the display frame or to the shields on the motherboard.

There’s no need to rush when detaching them, so you don’t tear the flex cable.

We can also remove the front camera.

Carefully pry it up and take it out.

It’s best to cover the front camera lens with protective film so that dust or debris doesn’t get on it. Set the camera aside.

Now we can try removing the motherboard.

It’s also better to peel off all the protective films so they don’t get in the way.

Fold the flex cables aside and, at the correct spot, carefully pry up the board, lift it, move the flex cables and connectors out of the way, and remove the motherboard.

On the reverse side, the motherboard may be held in place by thermal paste.

Finally, we move on to removing the battery.

Traditionally for Xiaomi devices, we have three brown pull tabs: two on the edges and one in the middle.

The tabs on the edges are connected together. We need to unfold the tabs and gently pull upward using the tabs located on the edges.

Under the battery there is a transparent protective layer that protects the inter-board flex cables.

ℹ️️ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, fingerprint sensor, and vibration motor.
