Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM cards out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
Then we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of about 70 ° C or 160 ° F for this we use a heating mat you can use a hair dryer for 5-7 minutes.
To detach the back cover, we use a thin metal tool first. Because of the fact that the edge of the middle cover slightly protrudes over the back cover, we need to slightly pry the back cover to create a small gap in which we can insert the plastic film and work the plastic film as a tool to detach the back cover.
So we find a convenient place for us, pry up the back cover, insert the plastic film and start to run the plastic film along the back cover. In our case, the plastic film is a display protective film, they come in different thicknesses in our case it is thicker. And we need to be careful in the area of the side buttons and fingerprint sensor because in this place are usually located cables. We also have to be careful around the cameras so we don't damage the lenses.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
We use a 1.5mm Phillips or #000 screwdriver to unscrew the six long black screws.
If the screws are different, we should take a picture of them or put them on a special surface in a certain order so that we don't mix them up when reassembling.
Step 5. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the four silver screws.
Step 6. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH#000), unscrew the seven screws at the bottom.
Step 8. Open the middle cover
Then we detach the middle cover. We also use plastic tool. We slip it into the hole between the middle cover and the display frame and carefully slide it along to detach the clips. We also need to be careful around the side buttons and fingerprint sensor because they are physically located there.
Step 9. Disconnect the connector
Disconnect the connector of the fingerprint sensor cable connector and remove the middle cover with transmission lines and pads for antenna.
Step 10. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connectors as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The Xiaomi POCO X5 Pro model has a battery BP4K with 5000 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
Step 11. Unscrew one screw
Using a Philips 1.5 mm screwdriver (PH#000), unscrew one screw securing the loudspeaker.
Step 12. Disconnect the connectors
Disconnect the two connectors of the two coaxial cables, inter-board cable connector. And we release the cables from their fixing attachments on the sub-board.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not pull on the cable or pry it with a sharp tool, the connectors are pretty weak and break easily, or the cable falls out of the end (lug).
Step 13. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, cards connector, spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 15. Disconnect the connectors
Pry up the connectors of display module cable, inter-board cable, and two coaxial cables.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
Step 16. Remove the cameras
We can remove the cameras. The front camera is slightly glued, so we need to raise it up and wave it out.
Step 17. Remove the motherboard
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 18. Remove the battery
Finally, we move on to detaching the battery.
We need to unwrap the brown tabs with the letters A and B on them. As we can see on the tab with the letter, A, there is a description and the sequence in which we should proceed.
We read what is written on the tab and act according to what is written. We have to pull the A tab upwards. The one that's wide.
Gently pull and detach the battery. As we see the battery from one edge is held on a transparent coating, which protects the cables under the battery.
Step 19. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, coaxial cables, and vibration motor.
