Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.
â ī¸ī¸ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
We need to open the back cover for this we use a plastic tool. We insert it into the gap between the back cover and the display frame in the area of the hole for the cards tray and carefully pass along detaching the clips. We need to be as careful as possible in the area of the side buttons and the fingerprint sensor, as they are actually located on the side edges. We also need to be careful on the corners, because the cover is fixed there as tightly as possible.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
We take a Philips 1.5 mm screwdriver and unscrew the eleven screws at the top. If the screws are not well magnetic, we can use a magnetizer to make it easier for us to remove the screws. The screws look identical in color and size.
Step 5. Open the cover
Pry over the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detach the clips and remove the cover with a flashlight, transmission lines and pads for antenna.
Step 6. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
âšī¸ī¸ The ZTE Blade V20 Smart model has a battery Li3949T44P8h906450 with 5000 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
Step 7. Disconnect the connector
Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable connector and remove the back cover.
Step 10. Remove the inter-board cable
Carefully, preferably from the edge, disconnect the connectors and remove the inter-board cable connecting the mainboard to the daughterboard (also known as the sub-board).
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
âšī¸ī¸ An arrow on the FFC cable (flexible flat cable) indicates its correct position.
Step 11. Unscrew the screws
Using a Philips 1.5 mm screwdriver (PH#000), unscrew the two screws securing the sub-board.
Step 13. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro USB), microphone, headphone jack port, spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 14. Disconnect the connectors
Pry up the connectors of the side buttons cable, display module cable, coaxial cable.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
Step 16. Remove the motherboard
We remove the motherboard. Gently pry from one side, then from the other side. In addition, the connectors of cameras are located on the inside of the motherboard and the cameras' bodies are glued to the display frame. So, in order to remove the motherboard, we need to unglue the cameras first.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 17. Remove the cameras
Disconnect the connectors and remove the rear cameras. The cameras look very similar to each other, so it's better to place them on a special surface, in a certain order, so that nothing gets mixed up when reassembling.
Step 18. Remove the battery
And we move on to detaching the battery. We take a thin plastic film, run it under the battery and carefully detach the battery from the adhesive base. In our case, the display cable under the battery divides the adhesive base into a nearest to us and the farthest starting after the display cable. We work carefully on the near side, not running the tool too deep under the battery to avoid damaging the cable.
So, when we have achieved some success in detaching the battery. We need to lift the battery slightly by one edge to work the tool under the battery behind the display cable. So as not to damage it. And continue to use the plastic film to detach the battery from the adhesive base.
Step 19. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, coaxial cable, vibration motor and side buttons.
