Step 2. Remove the tray
Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the tray of SIM and Memory card (Micro SD) out.
⚠️️ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.
Step 3. Open the back cover
Using a spudger or a plastic pick, carefully, around the edge, detach the back cover clips, and remove it.
Do not insert the tool deeply or bend it. Otherwise, the housing may be tampered with or damaged.
⚠️️ Be careful when opening the cover from the volume and power buttons side. Thin cable and fragile buttons are straightforward to damage.
Step 4. Remove the bracket
Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH #000), unscrew the three screws and remove the bracket holding the connectors.
Step 5. Disconnect the battery connector
Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.
ℹ️️ The ZTE Blade V8 model has a battery Li3927T44P8h786035 with 2730 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
⚠️️ It is highly recommended to disconnect the connector to avoid possible short circuits during disassembly.
Step 6. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH #000), unscrew the three black screws and one small silver screw.
Step 8. Disconnect the connectors
Disconnect the coaxial cable connector, Home button / fingerprint sensor cable, and the inter-board cable connector located on the inside.
⚠️️ Do not pull on the cable or pry it with a sharp tool, the connectors are pretty weak and break easily, or the cable falls out of the end (lug).
Step 9. Remove the daughterboard
Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.
ℹ️️ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro-USB), microphone, spring contacts for the speaker, vibration motor, and an antenna unit.
⚠️️ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 10. Remove the inter-board cable
Disconnect the connector and remove the inter-board cable.
It is better to disconnect the coaxial cable connector and bed the cable up to remove the inter-board cable.
⚠️️ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
ℹ️️ An arrow on the FFC cable (flexible flat cable) indicates its correct position.
Step 11. Disconnect the connectors
Pry up the connector of the side buttons cable, display cable, touchscreen cable, and two coaxial cables.
⚠️️ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
Step 12. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH #000), unscrew the two screws and remove the cover with antenna tracks.
Step 13. Remove the motherboard
⚠️️Be careful! When we find a way to lift the motherboard up we have to pay attention to the sensor. It is glued to the display module and connected to the motherboard via the flat cable. So we have to either unstick the sensor or disconnect the connector.
Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.
The motherboard, also, may be attached with attachments like latches or hooks, be careful.
⚠️️ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 14. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew the two screws and remove the bracket holding the Home button.
Step 15. Remove the Home button
Pry at the edge and remove the Home button.
⚠️️ Be careful! The cable of this button may be glued a bit.
Step 16. Remove the vibration motor
Pry at the bottom and remove the vibration motor.
⚠️️ Be careful! The vibration motor is glued a bit with adhesive.
Step 17. Remove the earpiece speaker
Pry at the bottom and remove the earpiece speaker.
⚠️️ Be careful! The earpiece speaker is glued a bit with adhesive.
⚠️️ If we pry the speaker in the middle we may break the earpiece speaker in half.
