Nokia 1020 help please. I can't charge battery, it buzzes on then off to on and off ect. it goes as far as the Nokia logo. I tried soft and hard reset and am now stuck.

    Hello, You can connect the phone to PC (desktop or laptop). PC should to determine the phone if it doesn't do it then the reason can be hide inside a charging port - You can clean it up or replace it. If you see connection maybe you should replace the battery.

So I just tried and it buzzes on, shows the Nokia logo, then the battery with the ref (out of power) sign, and then nothing happens nothing happens. It's the same. I'm not clear about what you said about the charging port, isn't that the same whichever way you use? I bought it second hand almost exactly one year ago, I wonder, do you know if the battery on these have a shortish life span? It's a perfect phone in every way, I love it and the camera is a dream. I'd really like to save it.

    Experiment that I offered can help you determine easy reasons of fault. When you connect a laptop (use a cable) to your phone and on laptop you find a new connection (this phone) that mean that charging port is working and reason in the battery. If laptop can't find connected device that reason inside charging port (it's broken). We don't look on phone only laptop. Also the battery can have a defect or a short lifespan it's true.

Hi my Lumia 1020 will not turn on even after changing the battery. When I place in on the charger, the Windows logo lights up for about 1 minute then goes away but that is all and the screen remains black. Tried all the buttons combinations still no luck. The computer sees the telephone when I connect the cable.

So my problem is after I replaced the battery, the touchscreen is not responsive to touch. I bought a new module (as the old one was imprecise after I dropped it) for 80 dollars and still won't respond to my fingers. What do I do? does the copper paper strip or the gray patch in the battery have something to do?

There is no need to replace that copper "film"? Had one replaced, non Nokia, battery without it. After 5 months it needed almost constant charging to work, i a w it was "done".
