Very useful. Thank you. I need to change the battery on my Swift2. Can this be done without removing all the other stuff? I was hoping it could be removed as soon as the screen is off. I like the battery removal technique. Any recommendations as to a source of the best plastic for the home made tool? And what's the liquid? I assume alcohol but it would be good to know for sure. Also, do you think the type of adhesive used will soften when heated?

    Hi, after 2:10, but, without both PCBs, it will be safer. As a tool, we used is a protective layer for a new LCD - you can use a thin plastic card. The liquid is isopropyl alcohol.

Jesus, they really don't want you to be able to remove that battery do they? (my old wileyfox swift had a removable battery, I understand that they're trying to pack a lot in but would it be so hard for them to install a battery that could be easily unclipped?) Battery life is the only problem with my wileyfox 2, and this level of faff to change the battery is just another way to lead people to discard a perfectly good phone. These companies really need to do better, this 'planned obsolescence' is just shamefully wasteful and needs to end.

Do I need to remove all the electronic boards etc to change the battery? I couldn't make out from the video whether the battery could come out once the back cover is removed or if the whole process shown in the video needs to be followed.

    Hi, it depends on how strong is glue under the battery. If the glue is strong enough, better to remove the boards for safety.

    Hi, you need to disassemble the phone and after that, separate the LCD from the frame, clean the surface of the frame and glue a new LCD & of course, assemble the phone in reverse order.

        In theory, you can replace anything, but in practice, really replaceable is the LCD only.

    Hi, it is a common practice. Often the type of screws and screwdrivers have the same numbers, but they are different for many reasons. For example, different manufacturers have different standards or the bad condition of screws (stripped or else).

      I got a replacement battery kit, the screwdriver was no good, ended up using my set and alas no T2, though the T4 fitted perfectly. So seems standards not exactly standard and one persons T2 is another's T3 or even T4. Still, job done. But the whole spunger removal part - not easy.
