It wasn't real easy but if you use the little tools that come with most replacement batteries (use hair drier for heat), go slow and be methodical, it can be done by a first timer like myself. For me, the two hardest things were getting the back case separated from the "body" and getting the battery out (due to good adhesive strips). I had a small gold thingy fall loose while removing the grilles. It had a screw hole through it and had a funny shape to the part extending from the screw hole that allowed me to find where it belonged...I think...lol. I loved this phone until the battery started dying. I tried to get a higher capacity battery from overseas but it didn't come (never came) soon enough before a trip so I bought another phone for the trip I had to take. I ordered another battery after returning and now have my Mini available as a back up phone now. ZTE Axon 7 Mini Open discussion
