Step 2. Remove the tray
First of all, we need to remove the SIM card tray. To do this, we use a special eject tool.
Carefully push the tray out.
If the tray doesn’t come out easily, you can additionally use tweezers.
Step 3. Open the back cover
After that, we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of about 70 degrees Celsius, or 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
For this, we use a heating mat, but you can also use a hair dryer.
After about ten minutes, we can move on to removing the back cover. To do this, we use a thin plastic film.
Carefully insert it into the gap between the back cover and the midframe, and gently slide it along the edge, cutting through the adhesive.
Please note that it’s better not to use isopropyl alcohol at all, and if you do use it, apply only a small amount so that it doesn’t get where it shouldn’t—for example, under the display.
So, we go around the edge and cut through the adhesive layer.
Usually, you need to be careful around the camera area so you don’t accidentally damage the lenses, but in our case, the midframe protects both the motherboard and the cameras.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
Next, we move on to unscrewing the screws. For this, we use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or a Phillips #000.
Carefully unscrew the screws and place them on a special surface.
It’s best to arrange the screws in a specific order, since screws don’t always fit well if placed back into the wrong holes.
Step 5. Unscrew the screws
We also unscrew the screws at the bottom. It’s better to keep the bottom screws separate from the previous ones, just in case.
Step 6. Open the mid-frame
After that, we move on to removing the midframe. To do this, we first use a thin plastic film.
Why a thin plastic film?
Because we insert it into the gap between the midframe and the display frame near the SIM tray opening. The plastic there is very thin and easy to damage. If we use a thick tool, there’s a high chance we could damage the plastic or the edge of the display.
So, we release several clips with a thin plastic tool, and then switch to a thicker tool.
Carefully go around the edge and detach the midframe. As usual, the midframe is held quite firmly along the edges.
Also note that the fingerprint sensor flex cable runs from the midframe to the motherboard. So, when removing the midframe, it’s very important to lift it very carefully so as not to damage the flex cable.
Step 7. Disconnect the battery connector
Next, using a non-metal tool, disconnect the battery connector.
âšī¸ī¸ The Samsung Galaxy A06 model SM-A065 uses a HQ-7160SD rechargeable battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh.
Step 8. Disconnect the connector
We disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector using a non-metal tool, and set the mid-frame aside.
Step 9. Disconnect the connectors
After that, we move on to the bottom section.
At the bottom, we disconnect the interconnect flex cable connector and coaxial cable connector.
Step 10. Remove the loudspeaker
Next, we need to remove the speaker.
Pry it up in the correct spot and lift it slightly.
Free the coaxial cable - if it is held - along the edge of the speaker cover.
Remove the cover with the loudspeaker and set it aside.
Step 11. Remove the sub-board
Now we can remove the sub-board.
Carefully pry it up and take it out.
The sub-board contains the charging port, microphone, headphone jack, and other components on the opposite side.
Step 12. Disconnect the connectors
Disconnect the interconnect flex connectors, the display flex cable, and disconnect the coaxial cable connector.
Step 13. Remove the cameras
Now we can remove the two rear cameras.
Set the cameras aside.
You can also disconnect the front camera.
It’s also a good idea to cover the front camera lens to keep debris from getting on it.
Step 14. Remove the motherboard
Next, we move on to removing the motherboard.
In the correct spot, carefully pry it up, lift it, and remove the motherboard.
â ī¸ī¸ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.
Step 15. Remove the battery
Finally, we move on to removing the battery.
As is typical for Samsung and this type of battery, there is a transparent protective layer around the edges that needs to be peeled back, and a blue pull tab that we need to pull upward.
So, we peel back the transparent protective layer.
It’s also a good idea to fold the interconnect flex cable back so it doesn’t get damaged accidentally.
Under the battery, there is an adhesive protective layer.
Step 16. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, vibration motor, cables.
