Step 2. Open the back cover
Using a spudger or a plastic pick, carefully, around the edge, detach the back cover clips, and remove it.
Do not insert the tool deeply or bend it. Otherwise, the housing may be tampered with or damaged.
Step 3. Remove the battery
Disconnect the connector on the motherboard and remove the battery.
âšī¸ī¸ The Acer Liquid E3 E380 model has a battery BAT-A10 with 2000 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).
â ī¸ī¸ It is highly recommended to disconnect the connector to avoid possible short circuits during disassembly.
Step 5. Remove the loudspeaker
Pry up the loudspeaker.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful! The loudspeaker is wired to the sub-board.
Step 6. Unscrew one screw
Using a screwdriver (Philips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew one screw securing the sub-board.
Step 7. Remove the daughterboard
Disconnect the inter-board cable connector on the motherboard.
Peel off the inter-board cable and remove the sub-board.
âšī¸ī¸ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro USB), microphone, vibration motor, inter-board cable, spring contacts for the speaker, and an antenna unit.
â ī¸ī¸ It is not necessary to insert the tool underneath when removing the sub-board. Internal components could be damaged.
Step 8. Unscrew the screws
Using a screwdriver (Philips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew the four screws securing the motherboard.
Step 9. Disconnect the connectors
Disconnect connectors of the display cable, touchscreen cable, inter-board cable.
Also, we pry up the power and volume buttons.
â ī¸ī¸ Be careful when removing the cables from the connectors, the cables are pretty thin, and it is easy enough to break them or damage the contact tracks inside.
Step 10. Remove the motherboard
Turn over the motherboard, disconnect the coaxial cable connector and remove the motherboard.
Step 11. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, battery, coaxial cable, small board.
