Step 2. Remove the tray
First, we need to remove the SIM tray. For that, we use a special tool, insert it into the hole, and push the tray out.

Step 3. Open the back cover
Next, we need to heat the back cover to around 70 degrees Celsius or 160 degrees Fahrenheit. We're using a heating mat, but a hairdryer will also work.
After 5 to 10 minutes, we can start separating the back cover.
To do this, we use a thin plastic film. We carefully insert it into the gap between the back cover and the midframe, and gently slide it along the edge, cutting through the adhesive.
Be extra careful around the side buttons and fingerprint sensor area, as cables might be located there.
We also need to be very careful around the camera area, as the cover is more firmly glued there.
At some point, we can take a peek under the cover to check for remaining adhesive spots.
We can also use a thin tool to slightly lift the cover.
It's important not to press down on the area above the motherboard to avoid any damage.

Step 4. Unscrew the screws
To remove the screws, we use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or a Phillips #000.
We carefully unscrew them and lay them out in a specific order so nothing gets mixed up.
If any screw is stuck, we can use tweezers. If they’re hard to remove, we can also use a magnetizer.

Step 5. Unscrew the screws
For the screws at the bottom, it’s better to keep them separate from the others.

Step 6. Unscrew one screw
Please notice there's another barely visible black screw that holds the midframe and motherboard together.

Step 8. Open the middle cover
Now we move on to removing the midframe.
For that, we use a thin plastic film to unclip a few clips near the SIM tray, then switch to a thicker tool. Be very careful at the corners, as the frame holds tightly there, and there's extra adhesive.
Gently release the clips—don’t force it open, or you might damage the flex cables or other parts under or on the frame.
We flip the cover in a way that doesn’t damage the fingerprint sensor cable that runs from the motherboard to the midframe.

Step 9. Disconnect the battery connector
Now, using a non-metal tool, we disconnect the battery connector.
âšī¸ī¸ The Honor X7b CLK-LX1 model has a battery HB4966A2EGW with a capacity of 6000 mAh (also known as a rechargeable battery).

Step 10. Protecting camera lenses
Next, we apply protective film over the camera lenses to prevent dust or debris.

Step 12. Remove the bracket
And, we remove the small bracket that covers the fingerprint sensor connector.
We carefully remove the bracket and set it aside.

Step 13. Disconnect the connector
Now we can disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector and remove the midframe.

Step 15. Disconnect the connectors
Then we disconnect the inter-board flex connector and the two coaxial cables.

Step 16. Unscrew one screw
Now we remove one screw that secures the sub-board. This screw is different, so we keep it separate.

Step 17. Remove the daughterboard
So, now we can remove the sub-board. We gently lift and take it out.
The sub-board contains the charging port, microphone, headphone jack port, and other components on the reverse.

Step 18. Disconnect the connectors
Now we move to the motherboard. We disconnect the inter-board cable, which also connects to the display. Then we disconnect the two coaxial cables.

Step 19. Remove the cameras
And we disconnect the rear cameras. Gently remove the connectors, peel off the thermal foil, and set the cameras aside.
Next, we disconnect the front camera. It’s best to cover its lens with a film to keep it clean.

Step 20. Remove the motherboard
Now we can remove the motherboard. We find the right spot, gently lift it out.
The back may be held with thermal paste.

Step 21. Remove the battery
Finally, we remove the battery. HONOR phones have brown pull tabs. Carefully fold them aside, read the labels.
Try to release the edge tabs, then pull the center tab to remove the battery.
Under the battery, there’s a transparent protective layer covering the inter-board cable.

Step 22. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, vibration motor, and cables.
