Step 2. Remove the tray
First of all, as usual, we need to remove the card tray.
To do that, we use a SIM eject tool, insert it into the hole, gently push the tray out, and set it aside.
Step 3. Open the back cover
Next, we need to heat the surface of the back cover to approximately 70°C or 160°F.
We’re using a heating mat for this, but you can also use a hair dryer.
After about 10 minutes, we can proceed with separating or prying off the back cover. For this, we use a thin plastic film.
Carefully insert the film into the gap between the back cover and the midframe, and slide it along the edge, cutting through the adhesive layer.
As always, be careful around the side buttons and near the fingerprint sensor flex cable.
Also be careful around the cameras so you don’t accidentally scratch or damage the lenses.
Step 4. Unscrew the screws
Next, we remove the screws in the upper part.
For this, we use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or a Phillips #000.
We remove the screws and place them on a dedicated surface in a specific order so we don’t mix them up during reassembly.
Step 5. Unscrew the screws
And, we remove the screws in the lower part.
Take a notice, sometimes screws don’t thread properly if they’re installed in the wrong holes.
Also, if screws are difficult to remove or hard to pick up, we can use a magnetizer and tweezers.
Step 6. Open the mid-frame
And we move on to detaching the midframe.
To remove the midframe, we can use a thin plastic film. Carefully insert it into the gap near the card tray opening - between the midframe and the display frame - slide it along the edge, release a few clips, and then switch to a thicker tool.
If we immediately use a thicker tool near the card tray opening, we might accidentally damage the edge of the display or the midframe, since it’s very thin in that area and the plastic can break easily.
On the second attempt, we manage to release a few clips and start working our way around the edge.
As usual, the cover is firmly secured along the edges.
We also need to remember that the fingerprint sensor is mounted on the midframe, and its flex cable runs to the motherboard, so we must carefully lift the cover.
Step 7. Disconnect the battery connector
Then, using a non-metal tool, we disconnect the battery connector.
âšī¸ī¸ The Realme C53 model RMX3760 uses a BLPA17 rechargeable battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh.
Step 8. Remove the fingerprint sensor
And we disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex connector, and set the sensor aside.
Step 9. Open the cover
Now we can remove the loudspeaker module. We carefully detach it.
It turns out we’re only removing the speaker cover - the loudspeaker itself remains inside.
Step 10. Disconnect the connectors
In the lower part, we also disconnect the interconnect flex cable and the coaxial cable connector.
Step 11. Remove the sub-board
Next, we remove the sub-board. Carefully lift it up and take it out.
The sub-board contains the charging port, microphone, headphone jack, and other components on the reverse side.
Step 12. Remove the cameras
Now we move on to the motherboard.
We need to disconnect the cameras - carefully unplug them. The cameras may be slightly glued in place.
We can also disconnect the front camera and peel off the copper heat dissipation film. We’ll need it again during reassembly.
It’s also better to cover the camera lens to prevent dust or debris from getting on it.
Step 13. Disconnect the connectors
Next, we disconnect the interconnect flex cable, coaxial cable connector, and display flex connector.
Step 14. Remove the motherboard
Now we can remove the motherboard.
Carefully pry it up from the edge, make sure nothing is holding it in place, and lift it out.
By the way, the board may also be secured with thermal paste on the reverse side.
Step 15. Remove the battery
Finally, we move on to removing the battery.
We need to peel back the transparent protective layer and pull up the green pull tab.
The transparent film should be folded back as much as possible so it doesn’t interfere, and the green tab should be pulled upward.
Now we can see the location of the interconnect flex cable and the display flex cable underneath the battery.
Step 16. In the display frame remained
âšī¸ī¸ In the display frame remained: the earpiece speaker, loudspeaker, and vibration motor.
