Disassembly/Repair of the mobile device Xiaomi RedMi 2 (Xiaom RedMi 2 2013811) with each step description and the required set of tools.

Using a spudger or a plastic pick, carefully, around the edge, detach the back cover clips, and remove it.

Do not insert the tool deeply or bend it. Otherwise, the housing may be tampered with or damaged.

There is an indentation at the end of the battery on the middle cover. Hook the battery at this point, lift it up and remove the battery.

Using a screwdriver (Philips 1.5 mm PH #000), unscrew the twelve screws.

Pry over the edges. Move an opening tool along the edge detach the clips and remove the middle cover with a loudspeaker and antenna pads and tracks. The middle cover protects the printed circuit board (PCB).

Pry at the bottom and remove the loudspeaker.

⚠️ Be careful! The loudspeaker is glued a bit with adhesive.

⚠️ If we pry the speaker in the middle we may break the loudspeaker in half.

Disconnect the coaxial cable connector. Turn over the sub-board and disconnect the inter-board cable connector.

Remove the sub-board. It may be glued to the frame or attached with attachments like latches or hooks, so be careful.

ℹ️ The sub-board contains a charging port (Micro USB), microphone, spring contacts for an antenna unit.

Disconnect the connector, pry at the bottom of the body and remove the rear camera.

⚠️ Be careful! The camera is glued a bit with adhesive.

⚠️ If we pry the camera in the middle, we may break the rear camera in half.

Using a screwdriver (Philips 1.5 mm PH #000), unscrew one screw securing the motherboard.

Pry up the connectors of the display cable, touchscreen cable, and front camera/proximity sensor cable.

Turn over the motherboard. Disconnect the inter-board cable connector, coaxial cable connector and remove the motherboard.

Detach the coaxial cable from the display module frame.

Pry at the bottom of the body and remove the front (selfie) camera and earpiece speaker.

⚠️ Be careful! Both are glued a bit with adhesive.

⚠️ If we pry them in the middle, we may break the speaker or camera in half.

ℹ️ In the display frame remained: the vibration motor.
