Disassembly/Repair of the mobile device Apple iPhone XR (iPhone XR A1984, A2105, A2106, A2108) with each step description and the required set of tools.

Use the ejection tool (aka Needle) or Paperclip. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the tray ejects, and then pull the SIM card tray out.

⚠️️ Pay attention! The tool must be inserted into a hole on the edge of the phone's housing. Do not press too hard. It may break the tray eject mechanism.

Using a screwdriver (precision star-shaped 0.8 mm aka Pentalobe), unscrew/drive 2 screws out at the end of the phone.

⚠️️ Pay attention! Disassembly has a maximum 3rd difficulty because the process begins with the disassembly of the display module. If you have no experience or are not sure of your skills, we strongly recommend that you contact a specialized service center.

It will simplify the process. You can use a home hairdryer, but you will have to make a nozzle by hand or have a suitable one in the kit to gently heat and concentrate the heat flow in the right place.

ℹ️️ The surface of the display module must be heated to soften the adhesive underneath. The approximate heating temperature is 50° C / 125° F.

Use a thin plastic film or pick for separation. To facilitate the process, you can use isopropyl alcohol. It is often most difficult to pass the tool between the parts to be divided. Choose the far edge from the FFC cables or buttons.

Do not use a lever or any force for separation that could damage the elements inside.

Using a screwdriver (Tri-Point Y000), unscrew two screws and remove the bracket holding the connectors.

Using a screwdriver (Tri-Point Y000), unscrew three screws, and remove the bracket holding the connectors.

Pry up the connectors and remove the display module.

Using a screwdriver (Tri-Point Y000), unscrew three screws, and remove the bracket holding the connectors.

Disconnect the battery connector as soon as possible. It is better to use a non-metal or plastic tool to avoid any damage.

ℹ️️ The Apple iPhone XR A1984, A2105, A2106, A2108 model has a battery with 2942 mAh capacity (aka rechargeable battery).

⚠️️ It is highly recommended to disconnect the connector to avoid possible short circuits during disassembly.

Also, try not to use a metal tool to disconnect the rechargeable battery connector or do it carefully.

Remove the battery. The battery is glued with adhesive tape. These tapes have tags to pull the adhesive out. Sometimes the tags may tear off so we have to spray some isopropyl alcohol and use plastic tools or films to remove the battery.

Under the battery is located wireless charging receiver. We should be careful removing the battery to avoid any damage .

Disconnect the connectors and remove the two front (selfie) cameras assembly.

Disconnect one connector on the motherboard.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips PH000 1.5 mm), and a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew 2 screws. After, we remove the bracket and rear camera.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew one screw, and remove the antenna.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips PH000 1.5 mm), and a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew three screws. After, we remove the SIM card holder.

Disconnect the connectors on the motherboard.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips PH000 1.5 mm), and a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew five screws on the motherboard.

Carefully remove the printed circuit board. There is no need to use a lever or try to reach the circuit board by force. Make sure that nothing is getting in the way or holding the circuit board.

⚠️️ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew seven screws.

Pry up the connector and remove the flat bar with antennas.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips 1.5 mm PH000), unscrew one screw, and remove the bracket holding the connector.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips PH000 1.5 mm), and a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew three screws securing the loudspeaker.

Carefully remove the loudspeaker.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips PH000 1.5 mm), and a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew three screws securing the TapTic (vibration motor).

Pry up the connector and remove the TapTic engine (vibration motor).

Using a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew two screws and remove the antenna.

Using a screwdriver (Phillips PH000 1.5 mm), and a screwdriver (Phillips (Barrel) 2.5 mm for hollow screws), unscrew three screws, remove the flat cable with microphones and lightning port (charging port).

Remove / unstick the cable with antennas.
