Disassembly/Repair of the mobile device Xiaomi RedMi 12 (Xiaomi RedMi 12 23053RN02Y) with each step description and the required set of tools.

⚠️️ Before disassembling, do not forget to turn your phone off.

At the very beginning we need to remove the card tray.

For this we take a special tool, insert it into the hole and push out the combined tray for sim and memory cards.

After that we need to heat the surface of the back cover to a temperature of about 65-70 ° C or 160 ° F. For this we use a heating mat you can use a hair dryer.

And after 5-7 minutes we can move on to disassembly.

To remove the back cover, we will use a plastic film, it can be a protective film from a new display or a plastic film from the stationery store.

We insert it into the gap between the middle cover and the back cover and run it along the edge cutting off the adhesive base.

This model has a slightly recessed cover, so we insert a thin plastic card into the gap to prevent the cover from gluing back together.

Please note that the camera cover is separate from the back cover, so the back cover will be additionally glued in the area of the camera cover.

Then we proceed to unscrew the ten screws, we use a 1.5 mm Phillips screwdriver or #000. Carefully unscrew the screws and place them on a special surface in an easy to remember order just in case.

Using a screwdriver Phillips 1.5 mm (PH #000), unscrew the seven screws.

We can leave out one screw securing the speaker so that it doesn't interfere with removing the middle cover.

And we move on to detach the middle cover.

We also use a thin plastic film. We insert the film into the gap between the middle cover and the display frame in the area of the card tray and detach a few clips and then use a thicker tool. Carefully detach the clips.

⚠️️ We should always be careful on the corners because the cover is especially strong there.

⚠️️ And we should also be careful around the side buttons and the fingerprint sensor because they are physically located there.

Disconnect the battery connector as soon as you can. Use a non-metallic or plastic tool to avoid any damage.

ℹ️️ The Xiaomi RedMi 12 23053RN02Y model has a battery BM5R with a capacity of 5000 mAh (also known as a rechargeable battery).

We use a non-metal tool to disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector and remove the middle cover.

After that we unscrew one screw securing the speaker, the screwdriver is the same Phillips 1.5 mm.

And we can remove the cover with the speaker, we hook it over the edge and remove the cover. The speaker is located on the inside.

We disconnect the connectors on both boards and remove the coaxial cable.

We disconnect the inter-board cable connector on the sub-board.

We move on to detaching the sub-board. We find the right and convenient place where we can hook and remove the sub-board.

On the sub-board we have the charging port and the microphone, and other elements on the inside.

We move on to disconnect the display connector on the motherboard.

We detach the front camera. The camera is traditionally glued with a copper heat dissipating foil.

And we detach the rear cameras. It is better to hold the cameras by the base so that they don't fall out and damage the lenses.

And we can detach the circuit board.

We find a convenient place for us, where it is better to hook the edge to take out the printed circuit board.

On the back side of the motherboard can hold the thermal paste.

⚠️️ Do not bend the circuit board when removing it or push tools under it. Unbeknownst to yourself, you can damage components or cables from the inside.

Finally, we move on to detaching the battery.

We need to unwrap the two brown tabs with the letters A and B and pull the wide tab with the letter A upwards.

With one hand we hold the display frame and with the other hand we gently pull upwards, detaching the battery.

Under the battery is located a transparent protective coating, which protects the inter-board cable.
